Mainframe Virtual Tape Storage is provided and hosted by the Virtual Tape System (VTS) - an archival storage technology that makes it possible to save data as if it were being stored on tape. Data files that are extraordinarily large or have backup requirements are sent to and stored on the VTS. This service is currently provided through Z Cloud.

Allows agencies to meet backup storage requirements for selected data files. Additionally, allows agencies to store files that, due to their large nature, would consume primary storage resources at a high rate.

Scope of Service
  • Kyndryl (formerly IBM), under the management of ASET, provides the total operations and maintenance of the Hosted Mainframe environment including the VTS solution and offsite Disaster Recovery solution. Customer manages and operates individual agency designed business applications including their data storage requirements and processes.
